Mayor Cantrell is banned from leaving Southeast Louisiana before federal trial

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Mayor Latoya Cantrell has asked permission to travel to Iceland for a personal vacation with family members, according to federal court documents.

Cantrell is not allowed to leave Southeast Louisiana without permission from the U.S. Probation Office.

This comes after she entered a not guilty plea at her arraignment last week.

She faces charges of wire fraud, obstruction of justice, and lying to a grand jury.

Mayor Cantrell must forfeit her passport as a condition of her plea.
